PokemonGo has become a widely popular game throughout the world, but that doesn’t mean that it is perfect. Niantic has worked on a number of updates for the application to minimize server crashes and to iron out glitches and bugs in the game, however people have suggested possible solutions to some of the step counter in the game.
If you have played the game you will notice that it can be pretty difficult to try to stack up those step counters when the application will not measure steps accurately or when your phone goes into auto-sleep. So one gadget that is available is the wearable Pokemon go plus gear, but many aren’t up to dare of wearing it, such as user JeffBoss from Fitbit community forums that said:
I just don’t want to wear that pokeball looking wristband as Fitbits are much better looking aesthetically.
The community on the Fitbit forums have suggested a possible alternative for tracking steps with the integration of Fitbit and PokemonGo, this would bring about a good tracker not to mention this could help hatch your pokemon eggs accurately.
This could be an interesting use of devices that many people already own, however spending more money for those who don’t own a FitBit might not sound very appealing for them.
If you’ve never heard of Pokemon Uranium, then today would be the day for you to know about it! Pokemon Uranium version is now here and is very real. This game has been in the works for over 9 years by dedicated Pokemon fans and has been created to pass on the classic feel of past Pokemon games, but with it’s own special twist.

Over 150 new Pokemon
A new region called Tandor which is in a tropical-like setting
8 new gyms
The introduction of the Nuclear type Pokemon.
Other features include:

This game is designed to be played on your computer. Which includes Mac and Linux, however these owners will have to wait a little bit longer as the only download available is for PCs at this time.
You can visit team uranium’s official forum here or if you want to download this new game visit their download page here.
Note: due to high traffic these pages may not load, i have found them to work again if you wait a few minutes.
After a couple of weeks after Niantic had taken away the footprint proximity feature, a new “nearby” feature has been introduced with the latest PokemonGo update.
This new addition seems to have replaced the footprint design with grassy patches called sightings and nearby locations for certain Pokemon (pictured below).
However, it has been stated in the update information that:
We’re currently testing a variation of the “Nearby Pokémon” feature with a subset if users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI.
So for the time being some players will not notice this new change immediately. From personal experience i have only been able to see the Pokemon in the ‘sightings’ category.
Many players have been waiting for a functional proximity feature to roll out, and some have even drawn out a possible system for locating Pokemon such as this idea from a Pokemon Go player, but perhaps this new update will bring more hope to the table.
